Pygmy Rattlesnake Print

This small rattlesnake ( approx 38 - 56cms) belongs to the genus Sistrurus. Because of it's size it is commonly referred to as a Pygmy rattler or Ground rattler. They differ from the larger rattlesnakes of the genus Crotalus, by having nine large scales on top of the head, and a small rattle. The rattle can be difficult to hear due to the size of the segments.
