This volume contains comphrensive data on all of the species of reptiles and amphibians recorded to enhabit from the Greek island of Corfu (Kerkyra) and its sourrounding islands.  It also outlines these islands' geography and geology,  it addresses issues involving climate, habitats, legislation and human activities. Corfu's species abundness is extraordinary, however, reptiles and amphibians are generally less regarded than other wildlife, and  quite often have conflict with people and their interests. They are often at risk from habitat destruction and pollution which are a direct result of human activities and island development over the last 30 years. Herpetofauna of Corfu and Adjacent Islands was written to increase not onlyknowledge of the herpetfauan of the islands, it has created a benchmark for the present status and biology of their amphibians and reptiles.
